WHAT: For the twelfth consecutive year, the Brewers Association has declared American Craft Beer Week (ACBW), a nationwide celebration of the small and independent craft brewers that make America’s beer culture so exceptional. PRETTY FRESH FOR A DEAD GUY
NEWPORT, Ore. (Feb. 15, 2017) — Rogue Ales & Spirits reveals a fresh new look for its Dead Guy Ale and introduces 12-ounce cans for the first time.
Originally brewed and bottled in 1990 as a Dia de los Muertos beer for a Portland Tex-Mex restaurant, For the last 26 years, the Dead Guy Ale label featured a beer-clutching skeleton with crossed arms and a beehive hat sitting on a barrel. This new look marks the first major redesign for Dead Guy Ale's packaging.

ALPINE BEER CO. DEBUTS FIRST CANNED OFFERINGS
February 14, 2017 - San Diego, CA Alpine Beer Company announces three new, year-round beers will be added to their front line,including Willy Wheat Ale and Truck Trail Ale. In addition, Windows Up IPA already began shipping to retailers nationally in January.
About Windows Up IPA
Windows Up is a single IPA made with Mosaic and Citra hops. It pours a hazy straw color and is topped with bright white beer foam. Piney aromas mingle with fruity notes, while hints of citrus fruit and an overall lingering resinous quality lend a touch of complexity to this dank IPA and is 7% ABV.
About Truck Trail Ale
Truck Trail is named for the Anderson Truck Trail in Alpine, CA and is a tribute to rural American back roads where locals go for off-roading and other shenanigans. This American Pale Ale features a balanced blend of Cascade and Centennial hops. It pours a golden yellow with an eggshell colored beer foam and its bold hop-bitterness is perfectly balanced by a mellow, malty sweetness. Dominant notes of fresh pine needles and zesty citrus rind make this a classic example of the style. Truck Trail will be available in 6-packs of 12oz cans and is 5.5% ABV.

An old-school recipe and beloved Alpine classic, Willy is a light, crisp, and refreshing American Wheat Ale featuring a prominent wheat backbone and Amarillo hops. SCHLAFLY INTRODUCES LATEST CELLAR SERIES BEER
The Saint Louis Brewery™ rolls out a Smoked Stout in 750 ml bottles this week
(ST. LOUIS; February 13, 2017)—Schlafly Beer introduces a new limited release this week with Smoked Stout. A continuation of the brewery’s Cellar Series, the Smoked Stout joins other beers such as Belgian Golden Ale, Baltic Porter and ESB in 750 ml bottles. The full-bodied, flavorful stout is slightly hoppy and boasts hints of chocolate. After the barley is malted, it’s smoked with beechwood, which adds an appealing, roasted aroma to the finished beer.
Ambassador Brewer Stephen Hale explains, “Our Cellar Beers are meant to be conversation pieces. It was a 2017 goal to expand our offerings of unique, larger format beers and encourage guests to enjoy and share the beers with friends. The Smoked Stout is exactly what you want to be drinking this time of year. Robust and rich, the appropriate amount of hops provide balance while the Belgian crystal malt and German smoked malt lend complexity.”
With capabilities for different bottle shapes and sizes, the new craft bottling line in the Schlafly Tap Room’s Horn & Quill Room allows the brewery to execute these smaller, limited releases. In addition to the larger format Cellar Series, the room also rolls out the brewery’s highly sought-after From the Ibex Cellar series.
The Smoked Stout will be available for purchase in the 750 ml bottles for a suggested retail price of $13.99 across the brewery’s distribution region. OSKAR BLUES BREWERY BRINGS ODD COUPLE TOGETHER
WITH HOTBOX COFFEE IPA
Longmont, CO, Brevard, NC & Austin, TX – Oskar Blues Brewery, the original innovators of craft beer in a can, are making strange bedfellows of uppers and downers again. Hotbox Coffee IPA (7.2% ABV, 70 IBUs) combines a burst of pine, citrus and mango from simcoe hops and blends them with a cold brew extract from Hotbox Roasters' Ethiopian beans, which bring cream, blueberry and cocoa notes to the mix. The beans were sourced from a family farm in the East African nation exclusively for this beer.
“Hotbox Coffee IPA will feature as Oskar Blues’ new spring seasonal in cans from March to May; replacing GUBNA Imperial IPA, which will shift to a limited, national draft-only release with 12 oz. cans only available for retail in the ColoRADo and North Carolina Tasty Weasel taprooms.

Blue Point Brewing Company opening brewery in Patchogue, Long Island.
Founded in 1998 in Patchogue, Blue Point was Long Island’s first craft brewery and has grown to one of the largest breweries in New York. Given Blue Point’s explosive growth, the brewery is in need of more capacity to continue getting their great beers to market. The larger brewery will allow the company to brew even more innovative beers, joining the likes of their Propstopper Seaweed IPA, Beach Plum Gose, Oyster Stout and much more. This multi-million dollar project will also create more jobs for Patchogue. It is sure to make Patchogue a brewing destination for the tri-state area. Some other quick facts:
